An asylum seeker on Nauru who was raped was forced to wait in a police vehicle, half naked for almost an hour while police watched fireworks.



The Iranian refugee known only as Nazanin was raped on the island in May, the ABC reports.

Officers later refused to take her to hospital raising concerns police in the small Pacific island nation are ill-equipped to deal with sexual assault cases.
