Two Aussie tourists were arrested after being caught with their pants down in the public gardens in Florence, Italy.

The pair were allegedly having sex on a bench near Florence’s world famous Ponte Vecchio around 11.45pm, in full public view.

The 20-year-old man and 23-year-old woman are accused of committing obscene acts in a public place. Stares and surprise from onlookers seem not to have fazed them and they only stopped when police officers arrived on the scene.

Italy is a popular spot for a romantic getaway but it seems this couple took it a bit too far and now the Italian minister for Culture Dario Franceschini has said that Italy wants to upgrade the calibre of its visitors and focus on ‘elite’ tourists.
