GOLD Coast police officers frantically searched a Broadbeach shopping centre this morning after they thought their patrol car had been ‘stolen’.

Officers were seen racing around the Oasis Shopping Centre around 11am and reporting over the police scanner that the car had been nicked.

However, after several minutes on high alert, the red-faced officers discovered they had just forgot where they parked the car.

Police confirmed the ‘incident’ and said the officers had been reunited with the car, which had been safely sitting in the carpark all along.

Don’t worry guys ... we’ve all had that moment of panic before.
