A Sydney woman will face court today after she was charged with allegedly growing almost $600,000 of cannabis in her home and exposing her five-year-old daughter to the crop.

The 26-year-old was arrested yesterday after police raided a home in Caines Crescent at St Marys about 9.15am.

They allegedly found 172 cannabis plants growing in a "sophisticated hydroponics set-up", as well as almost 10 kilograms of dried cannabis leaf.

The haul has an estimated potential street value of about $585,000, police said.

Police alleged the woman had her five-year-old daughter with her at the time.

The 26-year-old was charged with a string of offences, including enhanced cannabis cultivation (commercial quantity) and exposing a child to enhanced cannabis cultivation.
