A long awaited court battle on the legality of private currencies has begun. Prior to the Federal Reserve Act, it was common for banks to issue currency. Now, however, bad money has driven out good, as the saying goes. The FBI will try to keep good money from re-entering the market as barter currency. If Treasury and Congress are too weak to reclaim their right authority under the law, why not let the Free Market perform? Are they afraid silver and gold will upset the central bank's shell game?

“When groups try to replace the U.S. dollar with coins and bills that don't hold the same value, it affects the economy," Said Owen Harris, special agent in charge of the Charlotte office of the FBI. “Consumers were using their hard-earned money to buy goods and services, then getting fake change in return.”
