Last week, Margaret Atwood, feminist novelist in good standing, tweeted the Toronto Star’s column “Why can’t we say ‘woman’ anymore?,” which decried Democrats, from the Biden administration to Representatives Cori Bush and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, for using terms like birthing people and menstruating people in an effort to acknowledge that not all of the relevant parties identify as women.
