NSW Police say 47 people were arrested and more than 260 infringement notices were issued across the state as part of its response to today’s anti-lockdown protest in central Sydney.

One officer was injured after being dragged to a road by a protester, Deputy NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon said at a press conference on Saturday.

He estimated about 250 people attended the protest.

As part of a bid to control the number of people attending the protest, police stopped over 38,000 cars heading into the Sydney CBD and issued 137 infringement notices to people who had left their home during the city’s extended lockdown without a reasonable excuse.
