| SEATTLE – Seattle Police officers are investigating a bomb threat after a man claimed there was a bomb inside his truck which caught on fire outside the FBI building in downtown Seattle.
Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz says the truck fire was reported around 1:15 p.m near the FBI building at Spring Street and 3rd Avenue Saturday. Officers contacted the owner and he told police that there was a bomb inside the vehicle.
A bomb-diffusing robot was seen by the truck near the FBI building and officers determined that there was not a bomb inside the truck.
Diaz say the owner of the truck was arrested and will be charged with investigation of bomb threats.
A spokesperson with the Seattle Police Department says the large response was out of an abundance of caution because of the truck’s proximity to the federal building and the current climate around the country.
A special agent with the FBI says there are currently no threats to Seattle.
All streets were shut down in a two-block radius.
