| Subject: Baby killing promo pimp: Biden pledges to make Roe v. Wade law if it's overturned Wed Oct 07, 2020 8:38 pm | |
| President Trump slammed Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden Tuesday morning over his response when asked how he would protect abortion access — as liberals prepare for the impending reality of a considerable conservative majority on the Supreme Court.
“Wow. Joe Biden just took a more Liberal position on Roe v. Wade than Elizabeth Warren at her highest,” the commander-in-chief wrote Tuesday morning. “He also wants to PACK our great United States Supreme Court. This is what the Dems will do. Remember as they try changing positions before elections end.”
The president concluded the message with, “GET OUT AND VOTE!”
Minutes later, Trump continued by turning his focus back to abortion, accusing the Democratic presidential hopeful and his party of supporting the procedure being done in the late stages of pregnancy.
“Biden and Democrats just clarified the fact that they are fully in favor of (very) LATE TERM ABORTION, right up until the time of birth, and beyond — which would be execution,” Trump said, going on to mention the former vice president’s endorsement of Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, who came under fire for comments he made about abortions in the third trimester early last year.
“Biden even endorsed the Governor of Virginia, who stated this clearly for all to hear,” he tweeted, adding again, “GET OUT & VOTE!”
The tweets appear to have come in response to Biden’s pledge to enact legislation making abortion rights the law of the land — in a scenario where Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett would have played a role in overturning the landmark abortion ruling Roe v. Wade.
Speaking to NBC News at a town hall in Miami, Fla., Monday evening, the former vice president made the claim to moderator Lester Holt after being asked by a woman how he planned to protect reproductive rights with the Supreme Court headed toward a conservative majority.
“Number one, we don’t know exactly what she will do, although expectation is that she may very well move to … overrule Roe,” the Democratic presidential hopeful said at the start of his answer.
“And the only thing, the only responsible response to that would be to pass legislation making Roe the law of the land. That’s what I would do,” he continued.
Biden did not offer details to his answer, and the topic wasn’t brought up again when they returned from commercial break.
The GOP-led Senate is plowing ahead with Trump’s nomination of Barrett. Currently, Republicans hold a 53-47 majority in the Senate, meaning the potential justice could afford to lose three GOP senators and still be the nominee confirmed, with Vice President Mike Pence casting a tie-breaking vote.
Barrett’s nomination appears to be heading toward confirmation, which would leave the nation’s highest bench with a 6-3 conservative majority.
