The “progressive” former CEO of Twitter has called for the outright murder of his political opponents, specifically other business leaders who refuse to “get Woke.”
This dangerous and unhinged sentiment came after Brian Armstrong, the CEO of cryptocurrency marketplace Coinbase, took to his company’s blog to warn of the dangers of politics, especially left-wing “activism” in the workplace.
“It has become common for Silicon Valley companies to engage in a wide variety of social activism, even those unrelated to what the company does, and there are certainly employees who really want this in the company they work for. So why have we decided to take a different approach?” Armstrong asked.

Continuing, he said:
Quote :
The reason is that while I think these efforts are well intentioned, they have the potential to destroy a lot of value at most companies, both by being a distraction, and by creating internal division. We’ve seen what internal strife at companies like Google and Facebook can do to productivity, and there are many smaller companies who have had their own challenges here. I believe most employees don’t want to work in these divisive environments. They want to work on a winning team that is united and making progress toward an important mission. They want to be respected at work, have a welcoming environment where they can contribute, and have growth opportunities. They want the workplace to be a refuge from the division that is increasingly present in the world.
Successful companies have a mission related to their development and sale of goods and services, and they hire employees to do the work needed to achieve the goals that are in alignment with the corporate mission. It’s a simple matter, one that Armstrong recognizes.
“At Coinbase, we say that we are focused on building,” he writes. “What does this mean? It means we are going to focus on being the best company we can be, and making progress toward our mission, as compared to broader societal issues.”
These are the words of a responsible business leader.
But, according to former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo (shown), Armstrong, and others like him, need to be executed for their sentiments.
Replying to Armstrong’s blog post on Twitter, Costolo wrote: “Me-first capitalists who think you can separate society from business are going to be the first people lined up against the wall and shot in the revolution. I’ll happily provide video commentary.”

Of course, Twitter, which habitually bans conservative commentary for the slightest provocation, has done nothing to censor Costolo’s open call for political murder.
This is just one more example from the growing list of Democrat-aligned left-wing progressive calls for, and double standards on, political violence.
An egregious example of the Democrat-leftist double standard on political violence came during the first Trump-Biden debate. Together, both Chris Wallace, the moderator, and Biden demanded that Trump denounce white supremacist violence, with a special call-out to condemn the “Proud Boys.” This, despite the fact that there has been essentially no violence from the conservative and pro-freedom end of the political spectrum. Meanwhile, Democrat-aligned Antifa terrorists and BLM activists have rampaged through America’s cities this year with wild abandon, looting, burning, and destroying as they go.
As for calls for political violence from the Left, they are legion. A few examples:

  • Reza Aslan — the former CNN personality — warned on Twitter, according the Daily Mail, that if Republicans move forward with replacing Ruth Bader Ginsburg, more violence from the Left would be the response. “If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the entire f*cking thing down,” Aslan wrote to his nearly 300,000 followers.
  • Aaron Gouveia, author of the book Raising Boys to be Good Men: A Parent’s Guide to Bringing Up Happy Sons in a World Filled with Toxic Masculinity, followed Reza Aslan’s lead, also according to the Daily Mail, and offered to his Twitter followers this chestnut, also in response to RBG’s replacement: “F*ck no. Burn it all down.”
  • Rahna Epting, executive director of MoveOn, participated in a strategy planning conference call among progressive radicals discussing what to do in the event of a Trump victory in November. “It is very obvious that Trump is laying the groundwork for claiming victory no matter what,” Epting said, according to the Daily Beast. “Progressive groups at the end of the day believe in our democracy and, while it is not perfect, believe in building upon it and strengthening it. And we will fight to protect it from what we truly see as a president who has gone off the rails and taking this country down an authoritarian fascist path.”

Note two things about Epting’s comments, species of which are repeated ad nauseam on the Left. First is the intellectual disconnect. Progressives “believe in our democracy” but when “our democracy” delivers a result they don’t like, they threaten to overturn it violently. Hence the second thing, the threat of violence: “we will fight.”
Fight how, exactly? In a summer that has featured already-rampant political violence from the left, in a year during which Democrat-aligned leftist Big Tech and Big Media have waged an aggressive campaign of censorship against conservatives, and in a year when elected Democrats such as Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker refer to people who oppose his policies as “the enemy,” it is difficult to take Epting’s words as anything other than a threat of political violence.
In fact, the conference call during which Epting made her alarming statement was described by the Daily Beast in terms that made it sound awfully close to what might be termed a plot for revolution. Put together by a progressive-radical outfit called “Fight Back Table,” the Daily Beast reported: “Over the course of two hours, participants broached the question of what the progressive political ecosystem can functionally do in a series of election scenarios. They began charting out what it would take to stand up a multi-state communications arm to fight disinformation, a training program for nonviolent civil disobedience, and the underpinnings of what one official described as ‘mass public unrest.’”
Of note, according to the Daily Beast report, was that a significant amount of time was spent during the Fight Back Table strategy session in analyzing and discussing the “findings” of the radical Transition Integrity Project.
Writing for American Mind, Michael Anton, a senior fellow at the Claremont Institute, noted of the work of the Transition Integrity Project — and of related progressive developments — that the Democrats and their radical leftist shock troops were up to no good. Said Anton: “We now have Democrats and their ruling class masters openly talking about staging a coup.”
To this, the Left responded by threatening to execute Anton. Nils Gilman, a vice president at the leftist Berggruen Institute, took to Twitter and said: “Michael Anton is the Robert Brassillach of our times and deserves the same fate.”

Quote :

— Nils Gilman (@nils_gilman) September 21, 2020

Brasillach, Monica Showalter pointed out at American Thinker, was executed “by firing squad in 1944 by French resistance forces for his advocacy of Nazi collaboration and anti-Semitism.”
The implication?
“Now Gilman has decided he’d like the same thing to happen to Michael Anton.”
Gilman, by the way, cofounded the Transition Integrity Project.
The progressive radicals have already conducted a terror campaign around the country, demonstrating that they will engage in widespread political violence and crime. Now, they are openly plotting mayhem and revolution.
It’s not the right wing we should be worried about. Indeed, it’s well-past time for federal law enforcement to investigate and put a stop to the progressive radicals openly plotting the overthrow of the country.
