Mel Gibson has denied bombshell claims by Winona Ryder that the Aussie actor-director lobbed anti-Semitic slurs at the actress at a Hollywood party in the mid-’90s.
The “Stranger Things” star and Gen X icon accused Gibson in an interview Sunday of calling her an “oven dodger” when he learned of her Jewish heritage. The offensive term is an apparent reference to Jewish prisoners who avoided being incinerated at Nazi death camps during World War II.
At the same industry soiree, Ryder claims Gibson asked her friend, who is gay, “‘Oh, wait, am I gonna get AIDS?’”
“This is 100% untrue,” Gibson’s reps told The Post in an emailed statement.

“She lied about it over a decade ago, when she talked to the press, and she’s lying about it now,” the reps said, referencing a 2010 GQ article in which Ryder, now 48, first mentioned the alleged incident. She also claimed Gibson once tried to make amends for offending her.
However, the 64-year-old “Braveheart” Oscar winner’s rep continued, “Also, she lied about him trying to apologize to her back then. He did reach out to her, many years ago, to confront her about her lies, and she refused to address it with him.”
Ryder — who was born Winona Laura Horowitz — told The Post she remembers the altercation quite differently.

“I believe in redemption and forgiveness and hope that Mr. Gibson has found a healthy way to deal with his demons, but I am not one of them,” Ryder said. “Around 1996, my friend Kevyn Aucoin and I were on the receiving end of his hateful words. It is a painful and vivid memory for me. Only by accepting responsibility for our behavior in this life, can we make amends and truly respect each other, and I wish him well on this lifelong journey.”
Gibson was first accused of making anti-Jewish remarks in 2006, when he was booked for a DUI near Malibu, California. The actor-director told a police officer, “Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world” and referred to a female officer on the scene as “sugar tits.”
The “Mad Max” actor’s father, the late author Hutton Red Gibson, infamously gave an interview in which he declared the Holocaust “fiction.”
