| If you had to categorise yourself as middle class or working class, which would you choose? The answer could determine how and when you bounce back after losing your job.
Prior research, for example, has revealed middle-class men associate their personal identity very strongly with their career whereas working-class men don’t do so as much. Likewise, to even find themselves unemployed is a profoundly stigmatising experience for middle-class men whereas the evidence indicates there’s much less stigma in this regard among those in the working class.
