| Subject: Unhinged OC sheriff’s investigator on leave after allegedly pulling gun on teen at San Clemente skate park Thu Oct 17, 2019 9:28 pm | |
| An Orange County sheriff’s investigator was put on administrative leave after reportedly getting into an off-duty confrontation in which he pulled a gun on a teenager at a San Clemente skate park.
The confrontation was reportedly on Oct. 12 at the Ralphs Skate Court, off of Avenida La Pata.
The Sheriff’s Department would not say what occurred but acknowledged an internal investigation was underway.
A deputy, whose name was not released, is on paid leave pending that results of that investigation, said Carrie Braun, an Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman. Once it is complete, the case will go to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Teenagers told Fox 11 that the man approached the group of teens over playing music loudly. One teen said the man did not look like a law enforcement officer when he approached the teens.
“It was probably like three seconds he had (the gun) out and everyone just froze and was in shock,” one teen said.
