Video shows sadistic cop assaulting suicidal patient in hospital

Newly released video shows a dirty New Jersey cop assaulting a suicidal patient lying in a hospital bed.
Paterson Police Officer Ruben McAusland, 27, was captured in cellphone video shot by a fellow officer as he slaps the man — who says, “Do it! Do it!” — so hard in the face twice that blood sprays on the bed.

The man, identified as Andrew Casciano, had just attempted suicide in March 2018, and was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where he was met by McAusland and Officer Roger Then, 29, according to local reports.
McAusland first met Casciano, who was in a wheelchair, in the waiting room, where the officer pushed him and punched him in the face, US Attorney Craig Carpenito said, according to NJ.com.
The victim suffered multiple facial injuries from the beatings, including an eye injury that required surgery.
McAusland pleaded guilty last year to selling marijuana, heroin and powder and crack cocaine that he stole from a crime scene.
He sold the drugs to someone in law enforcement, Carpenito said.
On Wednesday, he was sentenced in Newark federal court to more than five years in prison for drug dealing and for the assault.
McAusland will also face three years of supervised release and was ordered to pay $32,892 in restitution.
The other officer is awaiting sentencing on charges that he recorded the hospital room assault and falsified reports to hide the beatdown.
Casciano has filed a $4 million lawsuit against the city, NorthJersey.com reported.
“Through prosecutions like this one, police officers like McAusland — who dealt drugs, stole from a crime scene, and viciously attacked a person who sought help from the Paterson Police Department — are removed from positions where they can violate the public trust and deprive others of their civil rights under color of law,” Carpenito said in his statement.
