| One person died after a crash that started with a police chase early Friday morning in Manor. It all started at around 12:40 a.m. when an officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a traffic violation on a vehicle that was traveling on Hwy 290E in Manor. The vehicle did not stop and continued into Austin, according to authorities. That's when a pursuit started. The chase ended when the car crashed near I-35 and William Cannon.
Officers immediately provided the driver, a 29-year-old male, CPR. The suspect was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported. " No force was used by officers and the driver was never taken into custody," Manor police said. An autopsy will be performed by the Travis County Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death. The suspect's full identity will be released once the family is notified.
