| Diogenes the Cynic was caputred by pirates on one of his voyages and sold into slavery. He was asked what was his trade, and witty philosopher replied that the only trade he knew was governing men, and added that wanted to be sold to someone who actualy needed a master. A Corinthian named Xeniades liked his response so much that he hired Diogenes to be a tutor to his two sons.
