| Subject: More Government Idiots: Cops mistake ‘very realistic mannequin’ for elderly woman trapped inside her car Sat Dec 17, 2016 11:47 pm | |
| Police in New York received a call from a concerned resident Friday morning reporting what appeared to be an elderly woman “frozen to death” inside a vehicle.
But when emergency responders got on the scene in Hudson, they learned the “woman” was just a mannequin.
The Greenport Rescue Squad rushed over after they received the disturbing call.
When officers arrived, they witnessed what appeared to be a “woman seated in the passenger seat, wearing an oxygen mask,” and not moving, according to the Times Union.
A sergeant busted open a back window to the car and couldn’t believe what he discovered.
The woman was “a very realistic life-sized mannequin” with “clothes, glasses, teeth, shoes and skin blemishes," police reported. It also seemed the car had been left in the same spot overnight as snow covered the windshield. Police were able to track down the owner of the car and the mysterious mannequin, who happened to be a sales manager for medical training aids.
Chief L. Edward Moore said when police got into contact with the owner, he was furious that cops broke into his vehicle.
In a press release Moore announced, "It is my understanding that the owner was incredulous that we took action in this matter. He apparently was quite vocal and vulgar to my sergeant." He further warned about possible future citings of the mannequin. "Just to clear the record, all citizens of Hudson should be put on notice that if you park your locked vehicle on the street on a sub-zero night with a life size realistic mannequin seated in it ... we will break your window,” he said.
