| The British government broke the law by failing to deal with air pollution, with the High Court ruling that ministers should revise plans to rein in toxic emissions to comply with European Union standards.
High Court Judge Neil Garnham said on Wednesday government measures to tackle air pollution did not comply with European Union legislation to improve air quality and meet nitrogen dioxide limits.
