| Geelong Grammar School paid a teacher a year's salary to retire after an abuse allegation, but its then principal maintains it was not a "sweetheart deal".
The prestigious school paid teacher Jonathan Harvey his $64,348 salary for 2005 despite him not working that year.
It was double the $32,000 settlement a student abused by another teacher received after a year of negotiations.
Former Geelong Grammar principal Nicholas Sampson, now the headmaster of Sydney's elite Cranbrook School, also thanked Mr Harvey for his "outstanding service" when he retired in 2004.
