| A TAFE lecturer in Broome has been reinstated and will receive backpay, despite threatening to break a student's legs if he spotted him near his house.
The WA Industrial Commission released its finding on Wednesday, claiming James Petticrew's sacking in May this year from his job as maritime security lecturer at the Kimberley Training Institute "was harsh, oppressive and unfair".
In February 2014, Mr Petticrew, who was working at KTI's Broome campus, walked into an automotive workshop to ask a lecturer about some advice for fixing a trailer he owned.
Mr Petticrew then told a 16-year-old student in the presence of the lecturer to pass a message onto another student, saying he would "break his f***ing legs" if he came near his house.
