| Subject: Statist idiots: California Is Seriously Trying To Force Porn Actresses To Wear Safety Goggles On Set Tue Jun 02, 2015 12:43 am | |
| It’s really too ridiculous to even seem real, but we can assure you that this is not satire. California has introduced new regulations that will require actors in the pornography industry to wear protective GOGGLES while on set.
The proposals has some more modest proposals, including medical visits, condoms and Hepatitis B treatments. But the goggles requirement has more than a few scratching their heads. What is California thinking? The proposed set of regulations in California was just published on Thursday by the state Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board. They say that goggles could help prevent the spread of STDs. Porn actors Jessica Drake and James Dean even made a satirical clip about the ridiculous measures California has been imposing. That’s a snippet from it in the background of our title image. The 21-page proposal of regulations is the product of no less than 5-years of hearings and “research” from the government agency, which details the preventative measures they say will “keep performers safe.” The Free Speech Coalition released a statement in response, saying “These are regulations designed for medical settings, and are unworkable on an adult film set – or even a Hollywood film set.” “We’ve come to San Diego with ways to amend the regulations,” they added, saying that they have “input from both performers and public health officials, in ways that protect adult film performers without stigmatizing and shutting down an entire industry.” These new rules are set to be finalized next March. Again, this is not satire. Read the 21-page proposal for yourself, if you haven’t already. Honestly, we don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
