| AMERICAN FORK, Utah (AP) - A prison inmate serving time for murder is under investigation after a letter he sent to a judge had a razor blade inside. KSL-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1EyXFNr ) that Ramon Somoza sent a handwritten letter to 4th District Court Judge Lynn Davis, who presided over Somoza’s 2011 murder trial. A razor blade found taped to the documents. Somoza is serving a 15 years to life sentence for a 2009 of Jesus Landin in American Fork. Since he was found guilty he has been requesting a new trial and is representing himself. A Utah Department of Corrections spokeswoman says mailroom staff randomly screens outgoing mail to prevent contraband from leaving the facility. Deputy Utah County Attorney Chad Grunander says Somoza tried to apologize to the judge at a hearing last week.
