| CARTHAGE, Maine (AP) - A man in Carthage, Maine, has been charged with drug trafficking after a routine traffic stop revealed pot, pills and lots of cash. Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, says a trooper pulled over 69-year-old John Ellis Sr. on Friday for speeding. After smelling marijuana, the trooper searched Ellis’s car and found marijuana, cocaine, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia and $2,500 cash. Troopers then searched Ellis’s home where more cocaine, prescription pills and cash was found. Ellis was booked on a charge of trafficking in schedule drugs, a Class B felony, and is being held in Franklin County jail on $50,000 bail.
