| Australian Taxation Office workers might be the next public service agency to take industrial action following a pay deal that has angered many of the agency's 21,000 staff and which its union says will result in an extra 300 job losses.
The main union representing Tax Office staff, the Community and Public Sector Union, said the agency was seeking to cut jobs, significantly reduce take-home pay and slash conditions under a proposed new enterprise agreement.
CPSU national secretary Nadine Flood said the union was seeking members' views before deciding the next steps to take, but that initial feedback was "very negative". The union had not made a decision on whether to take strike action.
