| Subject: Lying Budget boss Robin Campbell claims he hasn't met an Albertan who is against a tax hike - Then make it voluntary and see what happens... Mon Feb 09, 2015 12:51 am | |
| You don’t like higher provincial taxes. But you do want to pay more of them. It must be true. After all, provincial budget boss Robin Campbell says so. Campbell has been travelling all over Alberta talking to all sorts about next month’s budget. And he hasn’t found a person, a soul, a solitary individual, a voice in the wilderness who pushes back against provincial tax hikes. Not one. It’s no doubt true. After all, Robin Campbell says so. “I haven’t had anybody come up to me and just outright resist,” says the finance minister in the Progressive Conservative government of Premier Jim Prentice. Campbell says folks do want the provincial poobahs to cut spending and if the provincial government can show they’re getting the best bang for every buck then, by golly, people are “prepared to do their part” to help the government move forward. Campbell says these days “there’s a different feel around the province.”
