| Boral chief executive Mike Kane has hailed the trade union royal commission's interim report as "a powerful and authoritative endorsement" of Boral's stand against illegal activity by the Victorian CFMEU.
Boral alleges that it has been the victim of an illegal black ban in Melbourne by the Victorian branch of the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union since February 2013.
"For close to two years, Boral has been calling for action and assistance to stop the illegal secondary boycott that has been imposed on Boral by the CFMEU in Melbourne, and which is continuing to cost the company millions of dollars in lost sales and legal fees," Mr Kane said.
On Friday the Royal Commission into Trade Union Governance and Corruption, headed by former High Court judge Dyson Heydon, handed down its interim report.
