The Australian Taxation Office will now be sending 500, not 300, staff to a 6000 square metre A-grade office building on the Central Coast about to be built.

After the May federal budget it was announced 300 Tax Office employees and another 300 public servants from other departments would be relocated to Gosford.

But now ATO workers will make up 500 of the 600 moved to the coastal region, according to an ATO spokesman.

"We do not expect to be opening the new office in Gosford until 2017, and the ATO is still considering detailed plans for the building," the spokesman said.
