| A 21-year-old Sydney man is facing life in jail after pleading guilty to the stabbing murder of decorated Sydney police officer, Bryson Anderson, during a violent outer suburban siege in 2012
Mitchell Barbieri cried and hugged his mother Fiona Barbieri on Wednesday as they sat in a courtroom packed with Inspector Anderson's family, friends and police colleagues.
Ms Barbieri was also charged with murder over the crime but was allowed by prosecutors to plead guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter on the grounds that she was "suffering a substantial impairment due to an abnormality of mind".
