| A woman's three-year battle with a government department has ended with a conviction, a fine and the death of a "lucky" $5000 fish.
The Asian arowana, considered in some Asian cultures to bring good luck, was seized by federal environment department officers from a Mount Gravatt pet shop in November 2011.
It was then euthanised after a veterinary officer using a scanner failed to detect a microchip, which is usually present in Asian arowanas farmed overseas.
It was only after the fish was dead that the microchip was found.
