Perth-based Islamic radical Junaid Thorne has provoked an angry backlash on social media after labelling Australia's security agencies the "real terrorists".

The 25-year-old Islamic State sympathiser turned to Facebook yesterday shortly after news broke of police raids in Sydney, posting a long rant in which he accused the Federal Government of "practising institutional terrorism" against Muslims.

In the post he also called on "Allah" to "destroy those who plot against us".

By yesterday afternoon, the post had attracted more than 200 comments - mostly from non-Muslims - including several making thinly veiled threats against his safety.

Thorne is no stranger to controversy, having previously described Jews and Christians as "filthy rapists" and his own Muslim leaders as "tools of fools".
