| A Sydney lawyer allegedly caught using the identity of a dead client to access the prized Members Reserve at the Melbourne Cricket Ground during AFL grand finals is being prosecuted for misconduct.
Denis Manning Anderson was escorted from the stadium after security officers intercepted him using the membership card of Michael Alfred Starkey - who died almost 15 years earlier - at last year's match.
Fairfax Media has been told Mr Anderson may have used Mr Starkey's membership to enter the exclusive area to watch the grand final for several years running.
Last week the Legal Services Commissioner hauled Mr Anderson before the occupational division of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
If found guilty of unsatisfactory professional conduct or professional misconduct, Mr Anderson could be removed from the roll - known as being struck off - or his practising certificate could be suspended or cancelled.
The hearing will continue in November.
