Perhaps that’s why news last week that a Tex-Mex restaurant chain was selling so-called burrito bonds to finance its expansion captured so much attention, and so many smirks.
With investors’ insatiable hunger for yield, even celebrities and homeless shelters have been able to tap into the bond markets for money, although with variable degrees of success.
