A man who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for murdering his father and released after seven years on appeal has spoken for the first time about his remarkable ordeal.

Despite having his conviction quashed, 34-year-old Douglas Victor Jensen has not received any compensation – even though police are now treating the case as an unsolved murder.

From the outset, Jensen has insisted he is innocent and that his 75-year-old father either committed suicide or killed by an unknown assailant.

He says his life became a living hell in his hometown of Tarrington in country Victoria – on the night of February 2nd in 2000 when he found his beekeeper father shot dead the kitchen of his family farmhouse.
