| A father is grieving after a row between him and his teenage son ended with the son being shot dead by police.
The Huffington Post reports that after an unfortunate series of events unarmed Tyler Comstock, 19, was shot dead by police on the campus of Iowa State University in Des Moines, in the United States.
James Comstock and his son Tyler had had an argument about cigarettes when Tyler is reported to have climbed into his father's car and driven off.
To teach him a lesson, Mr Comstock senior called police and reported the vehicle stolen.
The website iowastatedaily.com reports that police spotted the car and Tyler did not pull over when asked. There was a chase until Tyler's car stopped at the university. Ames police officer Adam McPherson fired six shots at the vehicle, striking Tyler in the head and chest.
The Comstock family questions police actions on the day of the fatal shooting. Tyler's mother Shari is quoted in the Iowa State Register talking about audio from the police scanner: “I don’t understand [why this happened] when I blatantly heard them say, ‘Hey, we know who this is. It’s a kid, back off.’ I don’t get it."
Iowa police are investigating the incident.
