Police in WA have impounded three vehicles and charged two drivers and a motorcyclist with hoon offences in the past 24 hours.

A 20-year-old man lost his Nissan Skyline to officers in Kelmscott after he was allegedly caught doing burnouts in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Officers on patrol first noticed a large gathering of cars near a fast food outlet on Albany Highway, where the driver was spotted revving his engine in a burnout about 12.20am.

It is alleged the driver, from Forrestfield, then moved the car into a side street and did it again.

When police stopped the car and told the driver his vehicle would be impounded, he allegedly became aggressive towards officers and had to placed in a police van.

He has been charged with reckless driving and disorderly conduct and the car has been impounded for 28 days.
