OZschwitz: 12% of statist thugs (pigs) psychologically disturbed

TWELVE per cent of NSW police are continuing to work despite suffering serious psychological injuries caused by the trauma of the job, new research presented to yesterday's NSW Police Association conference shows.

The preliminary findings of a University of South Australia study into the psychological effects of front-line policing in NSW suggest that 2 per cent of serving officers are experiencing severe symptoms of psychological injury and are at risk of self-harm.

The study, which involved the psychological assessment of about 300 police, found a further 10 per cent suffer from a psychological injury categorised as moderate to high. This figure equates to about 1800 officers.

"It is an absolute concern that these officers are still serving," the director of research for the NSW Police Association, Greg Chilvers, said.

"We don't want any of these officers to fall off the perch and have some kind of breakdown on the job, but there is a risk of that happening, according to this research."
