| A police car has been sprayed with bullets and a man is facing an attempted murder charge after an incident west of Brisbane.
An officer was patrolling Cambridge Street in Mitchell, west of Roma, at 12.15am following reports of shots being fired in the area when a man started shooting at his car.
The front passenger window was shattered and two bullets went through the windscreen on the driver's side, but the officer managed to escape the car and take cover.
The constable suffered abrasions to his left forearm and right elbow. Advertisement
A man was arrested later near the Maranoa River without further incident. He was charged with attempted murder and also killing a dog.
In a statement, Police Commissioner Ian Stewart called the shooting "very worrying" and said it demonstrated just how dangerous day to day policing could be.
