| City Hall’s executive “fat cats” have come under fire from the leader of the opposition in Brisbane City Council, Milton Dick, as remuneration data reveals a major pay bump for CEO Colin Jensen alongside a boost to the number of senior staff earning over $200,000 a year.
Cr Dick said this year’s annual plan showed Mr Jensen’s salary had increased to over $500,000, up from $330,000 paid to former city boss Jude Munro four years ago.
The plan also shows the number of senior executives earning over $200,000 per annum has jumped from 14 in 2011 to 48 in 2012.
However, Finance Chairman Councillor Julian Simmonds said figures in this year’s annual report could not be compared with previous years due to changes in the reporting method. Advertisement
Mr Simmonds said executive staff had been placed into higher salary brackets because the remuneration figures now represented their full remuneration package rather than just their annualised notional salary.
