| Subject: Rights violation: Oppressive China's crackdown on scantily-clad show girls at motor show Tue Sep 11, 2012 3:05 am | |
| The Chinese government has issued a crackdown on scantily-clad show girls after a series of near-nude incidents at the Chengdu motor show earlier this month.
According to Car News China, the organisers of the Chengdu show have been issued with a reprimand from the government over the amount of flesh shown by models posing for Kia, Citroen and Toyota – the latter of which saw an “almost-naked Ms Yan Yu” posing with a Camry before “things got so mad with ‘journalists’ taking pictures” the model was removed from sight.
Yan Yu was filmed exposing her taped-over breasts while standing in front of the Camry. Two models for Kia were considered indecent – one wore a pink top with cut-out sections exposing selected sections of skin; another was spotted wearing a mesh top with nothing underneath apart from a flesh-coloured bra. The Citroen “booth professional” wore a very short top and stockings with garters, leaving very little to the imagination.
