| As hundreds of parents "opt out" of NAPLAN testing held throughout this week, one education sector isn't part of the picture: home schoolers.
The home school system comes under the "opt-in" system in which parents are required to apply for their children to sit NAPLAN tests, unlike the public and private school systems, in which children are automatically tested unless their parents withdraw them from testing several weeks before.
Home-Based Learning Network oresident Hayley Ayers-Findlay said the purported aim of NAPLAN testing was to help teachers sort out who needed greater assistance or stimulation.
