| IT IS a case involving people who change their names, and one name - and one passport - that was allegedly used by more than one person in a bid to help a foreigner enter Australia.
The alleged scam was discovered when an Australian citizen, My Phuong Uyen Huynh, applied for a new passport last year.
A check of records revealed irregularities that police traced back to a trip she apparently took on New Year's Eve 2000, a District Court jury heard yesterday.
According to immigration records, Ms Huynh travelled to Vietnam with a man, Long Pham, who is now standing trial for allegedly helping a non-citizen enter Australia.
On January 11, 2001, Pham returned to Sydney with a woman using Ms Huynh's passport, which, said the Crown prosecutor Peter McGrath, was not the same person.
