| A well-known American BASE jumper is in intensive care in a South African hospital after leaping off Cape Town's Table Mountain and crashing into the slope, the Cape Times reported.

Jeb Corliss, 35, tried to glide off the peak in a wingsuit but clipped a rock 60 metres (197 feet) from the base of the mountain and tumbled onto a hiking path, where he was flown to hospital with leg injuries.
"It could have been a strange gust of wind, it could have been that he got too close to the mountain," said fellow adventurer Joby Ogwyn.
