OZschwitz: Statist brownshirts steal cash and property

Police have seized millions of dollars in cash as well as firearms during raids on houses in Sydney's south-west last night, with some of the money found hidden behind walls.

Seven homes in Mt Pritchard, St Johns Park, Colo Vale, Bringelly and Fairfield were raided by police following a 15 month investigation into the supply of illegal firearms and drugs in the Sydney metropolitan area.

"In one home, officers were forced to break into wall cavities inside a home to locate the hidden cash," State Crime Command commander David Hudson said.

"Today officers are continuing to forensically examine the bundles and count the cash, however, it is estimated more than $2 million was located at a Bringelly house and in excess of $1 million was seized from a home in Mt Pritchard."

Police also seized three rifles and a pistol fitted with a silencer, as well as ammunition, mace and a large quantity of jewellery, police said.

The raids, which involved more than 100 officers, began around 6am yesterday and continued "well into the night", a State Crime Command spokeswoman said.
