Grand Old Party presidential candidate Rick Perry's recent "Strong" campaign commercial frowns upon gays serving in the military and schools not letting children openly celebrate Christmas. Perry's controversial message incited a wave of parodies and lip dubs.

Here are 10 videos ridiculing Perry's message or mocking the video's outdoorsy setup.

"Weak, man"

"Perhaps this is a good time to remember that gay and atheist presidents didn't get us into the war in Iraq, the financial crisis or turn your mortgage into toilet paper. It took some God-fearing vagina penetrators to pull that off. ... Rick Perry may believe in God, but I've seen his polls, and God doesn't not believe in Rick Perry."

A Cappella Parody

A cappella singer Peter Hollens uses the outdoor setup from "Strong" and a Perry-like brown jacket to jokingly get his message out about a cappella vs. pop music.

If his face looks familiar, that's because he's won one of Mashable's popular YouTube Cover Song Face-Offs for his rendition of Katy Perry's "Firework".

"Sounding Intelligent"

"Jacket"

"But you don't have to have my low IQ to know that there's something wrong in this country when a guy can come out with a super anti-gay campaign ad only to find out on the interwebs that he was wearing the jacket from 'Brokeback Mountain'".

"Strong" Parody

"I'm not ashamed to admit I've never read a science book, but you don't need to be a mathematician to know that queermosexuals aren't humans. They're either, uh, plants, or animals, or whatever the third one is. Anyway, all I know is that they don't deserve the same rights as intelligent, loving folk such as myself. And that's why I only want heterosexuals going to war for me. ... Faith made America strong. Now, I'm not sure who she is, but if you're out there, Faith, how bout you come back and do it again?"

"Wrong"

Teacher's Parody

"I'm not embarrassed to admit I'm a public school teacher. ... Public education made this country strong. And it can make it strong again."

"Strong" Parody

In this video's description, the creator says, "This is a parody to teach him the that real 'Strong' Americans are those serving our country and those preaching equality, not hate. So Rick, I'd like to thank you for making this stupid ad (while you're already dead in the water in this race) for educational purposes and making it so very easy to ridicule. And everyone watching this video? I love you whatever sexuality, religion, creed, or custom you may possess or follow as long as you aren't a dick about it. Peace out."

"Weak"

"You know, there's something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military. Did you know they can serve coffee in a Starbucks? ... Gays are allowed to work anywhere they want. All the while our children are forced to recognise that not everyone celebrates Christmas."

In just a week after Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry unleashed his controversial “Strong” ad, YouTube is swimming in parodies and lip dubs that knock his religious message or mock the video’s setup.

The campaign commercial (see below) — which has more than 660,100 dislikes and just 20,800 likes on YouTube — has been widely lambasted online. Facebook users have left north of 4,000 comments on a post on his Facebook Page about the video. Much of the lively comment thread views the ad in a negative light.

This week, Perry followed up “Strong” with a less attention-grabbing commercial titled “Politically Correct.”

The Texas governor is no stranger to facing ridicule on the presidential campaign trail. In November, he drew a massive blank during CNBC’s “Your Money, Your Vote” GOP debate, and the viral memory lapse subsequently garnered the meme treatment on the web. That gaffe even sat atop YouTube Politics channel’s “Top 5 Hot Political Videos” list for a few days.

Despite the massive public mockery last month, Perry poked fun at himself in an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman in which he jokingly revealed the top 10 excuses for his on-air mental flub.
Rick Perry: “I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a Christian, but you don’t need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there’s something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can’t openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school. As president, I’ll end Obama’s war on religion. And I’ll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage. Faith made America strong. It can make her strong again. I’m Rick Perry and I approve this message.”
