Outrageous ruling revives OZschwitz Tax Office pursuit of Hogan

THE comedy duo Paul ''Hoges'' Hogan and John ''Strop'' Cornell might have seen off one investigation into their financial affairs, but the Tax Office is still pursuing the pair over their possible involvement in a ''grave tax fraud''.

Last year the Australian Crime Commission dropped its six-year investigation into the pair and their accountant, Tony Stewart. This prompted a barrage of complaints from Hogan, including his claim that he planned to sue the federal government over his treatment.

However, the Tax Office yesterday won a Federal Court battle, which will allow its investigators access to the trio's confidential accounting advice that was seized by the crime commission during raids in 2005.
