The alleged leader of a drug ring and an accused accomplice have been refused bail in a Sydney court after police say they found 11 kilograms of the illicit drug ice in a van.

Sahba Yazdani, 35, and Ayrton Robert Dickey, 24, today faced Waverley Local Court on charges including supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.

The charges relate to 11 kilograms of the amphetamine drug ice that police say they found after stopping a van in The Rocks yesterday.

The courier driving the vehicle had no idea what he was carrying, police said.

"We will allege the van had received a pick-up and was on its way to another location," Detective Superintendent Deborah Wallace told reporters today.
