A New York lawmaker wants police to ticket drivers for leaving snow and ice chunks on their cars after a snowstorm because of the hazards they pose to other drivers.

Drivers who do not clean off their cars and windshields would risk fines of $75, said Suffolk County, New York legislator Jon Cooper, who announced the proposed law on Thursday.
