| Pig nearly shoots actor in Long Island convenience store
Note to filmmakers: There's such a thing as too much realism. To wit, an actor almost got shot yesterday when a New York cop, responding to a 911 call about a robbery in progress, came upon what looked like, well, a robbery in progress. The scene: There was the actor, in a real-life convenience store, gun trained on the store's actual owner, with no cameras in sight (the crew was filming from the rear of the store).
“Police, drop the gun!” the officer yelled, bursting into the Long Island store, according to the New York Daily News. The startled actor threw his hands in the air and cried, “It's a movie! It's a movie!” The cop had to repeat his order to drop the gun—a prop, it turned out—several times, before finally just disarming the actor. “The officer used great restraint in not firing his weapon,” a police spokesman says.
