| Police have arrested 40 revellers during a Central Coast music festival, many for drug related offences.
Nine thousand people attended the Coaster '09 Music Festival at Gosford on Saturday which was headlined by award-winning Australian rock band Eskimo Joe and hip-hop act Bliss'N'Eso.
Local police, specialist police units and dog squads were out in force to prevent anti-social and criminal behaviour and ensure public safety.
Police arrested 40 people at the all-ages festival for various offences including drug possession and supply, and assault.
But, Inspector Nigel Webber from Brisbane Water police said, the crowd was generally well-behaved.
"The vast majority of revellers stayed safe and enjoyed the event without getting into trouble," he said.
"However, police were forced to deal with a few people who were caught doing the wrong thing."
