| SOME of the country's biggest names in investment have been shown up by new league tables highlighting the underperformance of their superannuation funds in the past five years.
For the first time, investors can access an official league table comparing the performance of their savings against other funds.
The table, published by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority yesterday, indicates that not-for-profit funds charging low fees have done better than more expensive funds.
Funds run on behalf of their members dominate the list. Some of the best performing include those run by the Motor Trades Association and Military Superannuation. Funds managed by some of the most prestigious financial houses - Macquarie Group, National Mutual and AMP - were near the bottom of the list.
